Julia Patterson
M.S. Johns Hopkins • M.U.P. USC • B.L.A. UMKC • Ivy League Applicant
From teen mother at 14 to Johns Hopkins 4.0—proof that reinvention is always possible. Julia's transformation story IS the mission.
Against All Odds
At 14 years old, Julia Patterson became a mother.
She made the heartbreaking decision to give up her child so both of them could have better lives. What followed were 20 years in what she describes as a "dead-end job" —watching opportunities pass by, wondering if her potential would ever be realized.
But Julia refused to accept that verdict on her life.
In her late 30s, she made a decision that would change everything: she went back to school.

Julia doesn't just believe in transformation— she is transformation.
She understands what it means to be written off. She knows the weight of decisions that seem to close every door. And she has proven—with three degrees, a 4.0 GPA at Johns Hopkins, and Ivy League applications pending—that no verdict is ever final.
As Chief of Operations and Development Director, Julia brings operational excellence and fundraising strategy to the Foundation. But more than that, she brings credibility that cannot be taught —the kind that comes from living the mission.
Julia is also a proud mother of a 15-year-old son who attends Barstow School—proof that breaking cycles changes everything.
